Modern, Desert Micro-Wedding at Le Chacuel in Joshua Tree, CA | Clara & Doug
What mattered most— slow, quiet moments with each other and their family, plus a decadent, coursed dinner with sprawling desert views.
Clara and Doug’s micro-wedding weekend in Joshua Tree was just that. The couple and their immediate families travelled from the east coast to celebrate their marriage in the desert. Their story was made of simple moments at home, road trips across the country, flights across the world (they’re both pilots), and time spent immersed in nature.
For their design, we drew inspiration from aromatic desert herbs and fruit (nodding to Clara’s garden at home), textures of Joshua Tree in fall (burnt rock and dried grasses), communal food experiences (like some of their favorite family memories), and the minimalism of being in the wilderness and in flight (nodding to their careers and origin story). Even their invitation suite was special: a page from the California Desert Botanical book was nestled in each envelope, nodding to Clara’s grandpa’s landscape and floral art.
It was a day that touched us in it’s depth and simplicity, and we’re so grateful to Clara, Doug and their families for trusting us with their vision and to our incredible vendor team for bringing it to life!
