She: an artist with an admiration for Picasso. He: an adventurer with a love for hiking. Their story combined to create an artful and adventurous elopement in the mountains.

This shoot was inspired by these two unique figures. Our primary inspiration for our design work comes from our clients— who they are and what makes them unique. When we work on styled shoots, we create an imaginary couple to build our design around! We get creative and envision some really fun characters.

We pictured the couple as lovers of Picasso, whiskey, bonfires and line dancing. If you look close, you can see these things reflected in the stationery, venue, florals and attire.

The venue: a ranch set in the Rocky Mountains— perfect for going on a long hike the morning of an elopement and the most picturesque backdrop for a ceremony. Simple and stunning: no extras required.

We chose the colors turquoise, peach, rust, mustard and sand to represent the transition of summer to fall.

The stationery nods to the work of Picasso with portraits of the couple— loose and unique. The polka dots on the dinner plates pair lightly with the circle detailing on the bride's dress and veil, also pairing with the artful perspective of the bride. The earrings were designed with the shapes of a Colorado sunset in mind. Small accents of wood and fringe complete the adventurous feeling.

Shot in an journalistic style: portraits were taken to capture the movements and natural magic between the bride and the groom. This shoot was a story unfolding— just as marriage is. The ethereal images captured during blue hour evoke feelings of freedom and deep connection.

For this shoot, we paired up with several of Denver's most imaginative creatives to design something that would inspire those who are looking to elope in the most adventurous, artful and meaningful of ways.
