Intimate Wedding in Pagosa Springs, CO with Stunning Mountain Views | Anne-Marie + Trevor

Anne-Marie ran barefoot through the yard of Trevor’s family home nestled in the Rockies to greet her arriving guests.

It was September, on the brink of fall, yet the air was warm and there was a breeze. Anne-Marie had yet to walk down the aisle or make a grand entrance in her open back, Lover’s Society gown - she just wanted to give her loved ones big hugs.

If you know us, you know we’re not sticklers for tradition. Anne-Marie’s knack for breaking the rules and truly going with the flow is one of the reasons we so loved and appreciated planning and styling her and Trevor’s wedding day.

Their whole day felt this way: a lighthearted and easy unfolding. No expectations for themselves or their guests to be a certain way or do a certain thing. They just wanted to celebrate.

Their celebration began with a barrel of beers and a slow meandering to the ceremony. As guests arrived, they were encouraged to take a shot of Fireball and grab a can of locally brewed beer (You know it was good because Colorado has some of the best beer around)!

One of our favorite moments from their ceremony

was when their officiant, a good friend of theirs, asked all the guests to raise their beers and “in true Kentucky fashion” shout silly words in celebration of the couple!

After the ceremony,

they hosted a nearly 2 hour cocktail hour with drinks, appetizers, yard games and toasts. This was a time specifically requested by the couple. They wanted time to soak in each moment with their guests. They wanted plenty of time to relax, to drink, to have fun on their own schedule.

Everything took place outside — guests rotated around the house as the events of the evening unfolded. The ceremony was held in the backyard, with breathtaking views of the mountains. Cocktail hour took place in the side yard, with more mountain views and a well-manicured garden. Dinner and dancing took place in the front yard, and you guessed it, with more mountain views.

Expectedly, the couple’s new family member was also in attendance all evening. Kona, a Golden Retriever, was elated to walk down the aisle with the bride’s man of honor, as well as to be given free reign of the property the entire evening. She danced, was photographed, received an abundance of affection and even snuck a piece of cake or two!

Chain Station, the blue grass band, was one of the hits of the evening. Our team had guests coming up to us all evening asking who they were and how they could hire them. They brought energy, laughs and really good music all evening long. Stevie, lead stylist and signage designer, created a painted canvas backdrop for the band’s stage. The painting on the backdrop represented the mountains the wedding was nestled in and the full moon of the evening.

Stevie also designed several other signage pieces, all inspired by Aztec and bohemian patterns and shapes. Anne-Marie and Trevor’s style was made up of their travels around the world and their love for Colorado.

Dinner was served buffet-style and no seats were assigned. Guests were invited to meander around the property and choose where they wanted to dine: from farmhouse tables in the backyard to a tented dining area in the front yard.

After dinner, dancing began and lasted till midnight. We didn’t see Anne-Marie leave the dance floor once (unless she was snagged for epic sunset photos), she held down the dance floor and kept her loved ones surrounded by her all night.

The evening came to a close in the best of ways. Anne-Marie’s Man of Honor, Mike, surprised her and everyone present with a special song. He got up on stage, and with the help of the band, sang Refugee by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. During one part of the song, he couldn’t remember the words so improv-d with, we would dare to say, even better lyrics than the original. Anne-Marie and Trevor were elated — it helped that Mike was a professional singer.

It was our

favorite

way

to end an evening yet. Who wouldn’t want to be serenaded by their best friend?

We’re so grateful

to have been a part of Anne-Marie and Trevor’s story and witness to such a fun day!
