Deep Crimson, Modern Apple Orchard Wedding | Kaylin + Chris

When these Missouri transplants returned home for their wedding, they did so with so much style.

Kaylin and Chris notoriously met at a Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin show in Springfield, Missouri. They both have their own version of how the conversation started. However it started, they soon fell in love, dating long distance and then moved to L.A. together.

Their intention to live thoughtfully exudes throughout their lives. The ways they foster loving relationships with their family and friends, their care for the environment and art, their impeccable taste in music, and making sure their pup, Lucy, is always living her best life - you know they care.

Kaylin and Chris’s care infused every element of their wedding day! They reached out in 2019 for their lovely autumn 2020 wedding. Like many others, plans changed. The two chose to hold a small ceremony in Los Angeles in 2020 and moved their 150 guest celebration back one year.

To our dismay the pandemic was persistently impacting Missouri nearing the new date. We pulled together and make the tough decision to change the venue - originally set in the four storied exhibit halls of The Discovery Center in downtown Springfield to an outdoor location, Harvest Restaurant.

While changing the venue two months before the wedding date was never plan A, the change brought about so much beauty and fun - even in the rain!

Kaylin and Chris exchanged vows and rings that they created for each other (check out Whaley Studios) with the guidance of Chris’s cousin in the middle of an apple orchard. Following the ceremony, everyone grabbed a drink and enjoyed the sweet breeze of the post-storm air and epic sunset.

For dinner the Harvest team plated a variety of incredible dishes for guests, including fantastic vegan and gluten free options.

Loving all things potatoes, Chris commissioned a pome frites station for the end of the evening.

We all love potatoes too, Chris. Thank you. One of our favorite moments of the evening was during Chris’s father’s toast to them. He spoke so tenderly of their family and the two of them, especially Chris. It was moving. Then Kaylin got up from her seat and leaned in near to her husband as they soaked in the spoken love. The tent was glowing with their gratitude and deep joy.

Congratulations, Kaylin and Chris! Your love is so beautiful and magnetic!
