Earthy + Sustainable Coffee Shop Wedding at Finley Farms | Meg + Michael

Meg and Michael’s wedding day was inspired by mid century architecture, the Ozark landscape, slow Saturdays and the fauvist art movement.

It was set in an original mill rehabilitated by Bass Pro into a gorgeous working farm and coffee shop: The Workshop at Finley Farms.

We took inspiration from artist Raoul Duffy by hiring Rebecca Lynn, a Springfield-native artist, to create illustrations for the invitation suite in the colorful and textured style.

For the ceremony backdrop we wanted to showcase the Ozark landscape and blend it seamlessly with the surrounding gardens of the venue. Large rocks from local streams were incorporated into a large, grassy ground installation. Bistro chairs lined the inside aisles of the raised garden beds. We incorporated the seating chart into the raised garden beds: two-sided, so that they could be viewed from either side and felt as if it was growing out of the herbs.

For dinner, tables and chairs were used from the coffee shop, creating yet another seamless moment — every element was meant to be there. Centerpieces reflected the ceremony backdrop with rocks incorporated. Terrazzo stone pieces were used for table numbers and signage throughout the reception, offering a fun, yet earthy accent. The night was filled with dancing and long conversations reminiscent of time spent in a coffee shop.

This wedding in the Ozarks was tender and unassuming, as down-to-earth as Meg and Michael!
