Modern, Colorful Palm Springs Elopement at Villa Leche | Cidney + Langston

Cidney and Langston travelled from North Carolina to elope in a vastly different terrain than their own lush mountains— the desert landscape and colorful personality of Palm Springs, California.

The two of them had spent several memorable trips in California. This time they went to tie the knot. Their day was inspired by food and wine tours that they frequently enjoy, tender surprises, Spanish tile, the flower section at a corner store, and innovation. Yes, a vast range of inspirations, but all seamlessly tied together to make up who they are.

The ceremony backdrop we custom designed and built combined the sleek architecture of an Apple store with the organic nature of flowers. We used rods in transitioning colors from muted canary to cobalt to create depth and echo the feeling of the mountains in the background. The welcome sign reflected this backdrop and was an heirloom piece that Cidney and Langston kept for their home in North Carolina.

After the ceremony, Cidney and Langston went to a private lounge for their cocktail hour in Villa Leche’s cacti garden. During this time we surprised them with two wine pairings with their appetizers, nodding to their love of wine tours. On the cocktail table sat a “garden” of various flower arrangements. Each flower represented one of the values the two of them share as a couple. Prior to their day we had them write surprise letters to each other that paired with the flower symbolisms. Among the symbolisms: thoughtfulness and happiness in marriage. They read the surprise letters to each other out loud while sipping wine.

After cocktail hour, they went to a dinner catered by their private chef overlooking the mountains. Cidney’s sister was the only guest in attendance and shared a beautiful toast to kick off their private dinner. We incorporated Spanish tile design into their dinner menu and utilized natural toned dinnerwares for their tablescape.

Cidney and Langston came to the desert to dedicate time to just themselves and each other— we’d say it was an absolute success!
